How to control Rotary speaker on Kemper Profiler?
#1
Q (Michael): Is there any possibility to get the Rotationspeed slow and fast Switch working from your Midigrande 8 per midi? Maybe on Footswitch 6?

A (Microdesignum):
First configure your MIDI Grande controller to control a stompbox using register (footswitch) 6:
  • Press and hold Edit/Save button for cca 5 seconds. The display shows: GLOB.
  • When you release the button, the display shows: 1 PC by default.
  • Press Param> button twice. The display shows: 2---. It means that the second command is globally disabled.
  • Press Value> button until the display shows 2 CC. It means that the second command will be CC - Control Change.
  • Press the Param> button. The display shows: 2  2. It means that the second command is on MIDI channel 2 by default.
  • Press <Value button to set channel 1. The display will show then: 2  1.
You have globally enabled two commands for all layers: the first command is Program Change and the second is Control Change, both on channel 1. You can use one or both of them in programming the layers.

Continue in global settings.
  • Press register 6, the display shows: 6PGM. It means that register 6 is globally in program mode.
  • Press the Value> button, the display will show: 6STO. It means that register 6 will be in stompbox mode.
  • Press shortly Edit/Save button. You saved the global settings.
Global settings are complete. Now program both layers of register 6 in the first bank.
  • Press the register 6 so that it lights red. The display shows: 16-1. You are in the first bank - register 6 - first (red) layer.
  • Press shortly the Edit/Save button, the display shows EDIT. When you release the button, the display shows 1  6 and the PC dot is lit. It means that you are editing the first command of the edited layer, it is PC (Program Change) and its number is 6 by default.
  • Press Clear button, the display shows 1---. You don't need PC#6 in this layer.
  • Press the Param> button. The display shows 2--- and the CC dot is lit. The second command is disabled by default. Press Value> (or <Value) button to set 2 33. The CC#33 is used for Rotary speaker control on Kemper Profiler.
  • Press the Param> button, the display shows 2  0 and the dots CC and Value are lit. A Control Change command has two parameters: the number and the value. You have already set the number (CC#33) and now you are editing its value. Let it on default value 0 to set the slow speed of the Rotary speaker.
  • Press shortly Edit/Save button to save the settings of this layer.
Now do the similar with the green layer of register 6 with the exception of its value:
  • Press the register 6 so that it lights green. The display shows: 16-2. You are in the first bank - register 6 - second (green) layer.
You are editing the value of CC#33. Press <Value button once to set 2127 for the fast speed of the Rotary speaker.
  • Press shortly Edit/Save button to save the settings of this layer.
Your MIDI Grande is ready to control the speed of Rotary speaker on your Kemper Profiler by the register 6 in the first bank.
